WhatsApp no doubt is simply best and the most popular instant messaging app of the last few years. WhatsApp is so popular that it doesn’t even need an introduction. All the people around us is taking advantage of this free messaging app to stay connected with their friends and family members.
WhatsApp added a feature last year that indicate the sender (with a double-tick mark sign) whether the recipient read their message or not. A new problem escalated with this new feature because it silently forced you to reply the message instantly. Some users were comfortable with it while some didn’t. If you really want to bypass this feature, then here are few hacks you can use to read messages on WhatsApp without Being Seen.
1. Disable Read Receipts Option
Disabling “Read Receipts” option arrived with that new feature and a decent technique to disable the ability of WhatsApp to indicate sender that you have read the message. But the problem with this option is that you disable it you will not also be able to know whether someone has read your message or not. Here is how you can disable it.
Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck Read receipts.
Tap on Accounts >> then on Privacy.
Launch WhatsApp >> go to Settings.
Tap on Accounts >> then on Privacy.
Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck Read receipts.
2. Read Message From The Notification Bar
If your WhatsApp notifications are enable, then you will get a message in your device notification area. From the notification area you can easily read the complete or some part of message without opening the app. The sender will only see the blue ticks when you open the app to read the full message.
3. Airplane Mode Technique
Don’t open the app right after receiving any message, first turn on the airplane mode / flight mode instead. Your WiFi or mobile data will be turn off which will take WhstaApp offline. Now open the app to read the message, the sender won’t get an alert since you will be reading the message from app cache. Once you read the complete message, close WhatsApp and swipe to remove it from the recent apps list too then turn off the airplane mode / flight mode.
4. WhatsApp Widget
Mostly users don’t aware of the fact that WhatsApp has a widget, which you easily place on your home screen to get a glance of the messages. Since using this widget doesn’t open the app you can keep the blue sticks from showing up on the other side.
5. WhatsApp Pop-up
It seems that many users might have forgotten about this old feature but it’s still available in WhatsApp.
Go to app Settings >> Select Notifications
Tap on Pop-up Notification under Message Notifications.
Then select one that suits you from the following:
Only when screen “on”
Only when screen “off”
Always show pop-up
By doing this you can easily read the messages without opening the app.
